The Jacobean style came about quite long ago during the ruling of King James I of England, who also ruled as King James VI when in Scotland. The King was most fond of decorative arts and fancied this style, which was to become one of his most impressive legacies.
Giving the pattern a whimsical look, is the out of proportion or exaggerated elements that the Jacobean design is best known for. The design has been known as a regal and traditional design.
